TALK TO ME!!!Saturday, 27 June 2009 Well, as the whole world knows.. The King of Pop - Michael Jackson has passed away yesterday due to a cardiac arrest.. As most people in the world know him today,as the King of Pop, or his famous Moonwalk, or a sexual pervert who molest kids, to me, he's a legend like Elvis Presley.. A talented singer who got his life badly ruined and have to die at a young age of 50 only.. Although he lived longer than Presley, To me, his legacy will live on even for the next 40 years at least.. And as such a huge iconic figure dies, obviously everyone will be talking about it.. It seems to me that the main topic of us chatting today is mostly on himself.. And what people remember him for is not his music, although some do.. But they remember him as a pervert, as someone who's insecure, drug addict, someone who bleach himself or whatever negativity... To me, i was really curious about it.. So i went to wiki on him today and read about his biography.. And as i read his biography, as usual, thoughts came into my mind.. Apparently, he was abused as a kid by his dad.. Became insecure and scared due to his lack of love from his childhood.. Grew up under huge pressure from the media.. Grew up during a period of time when racism is still going on extremely strongly in the US.. Where if you're an African American, you are limited to do only a few things.. As he grew, he began to be under drugs due to stress.. And as time goes by, he was victimised by the words the media labelled him as.. In 2005 (if i didn't rmb wrongly), he was charged for a molestation case against a 13 year old child who claimed to be molested by him.. Newspapers and magazines began charging towards him with harsh wordings.. Calling him a phaedophile.. And today, he's gone.. With no chance of making his music career a come back as he intends to hold concerts in London next year.. I was on youtube just now finding his songs.. Apparently, i was on the verge to tears when i heard the song - Heal The World.. These songs that he sang brought me back memories of songs that adults used to hear when i was just a young little boy.. And it seems like the common saying of "people will only know how to treasure something really important to them only after they're gone" is indeed very true..Look at his famous performances videos on youtube.. Look at the comments typed by people.. It was all so last minute.. But at the end of the day, from my perspective, at least they've known the feeling of finally losing someone they need.. someone who's important or plays an influencial role in their life.. As most people know, back to the 1980s, He was the "thing".. the "trend" So what has this man's death gotta do with me?? I began thinking about how the world is today.. About how the lives of youngsters are being affected by things around them today.. Just like Michael Jackson's life.. Let's have a good view on the most common problem that's happening in Singapore today.. Sex and Relationship among youngsters/students (age between 14 to 20) Look at the among of underage sex cases and shot-gun marriages that are happening today.. As well as the amount of homosexuality we have in singapore.. The numbers are increasing as the years go by.. If u were to enter a polytechnic today and count the number of virgins there.. I doubt it'll be a high number.. And many will be ignorant about it when they did it their 1st time.. And i bet if we do a survey on them, some of them will even admit to be bisexual.. So what are the causes that leads these youngters to what they do today? Who's fault is it?? Is it the Media? Is it the Parents? Is it the Advancement in Technology that we have today?? Is it the society? Is it the people's influence around us? Is it the government? Or is it something else? YOU DECIDE IT YOURSELF..Of course i have my own opinion towards it as well.. And that is ALL OF THEM PLAYED A ROLE for this problem.. Somehow, i just feel that as i typed this post.. People will start asking me.. "BEN!!! you are so old-fashion lah.. still thinking like that.." My answer to you will be, "HEY!! why are u thinking like that as well?? saying that i'm old-fashion??" Human beings are just like that.. We love to point finger a finger at others not remembering that we actually have another 3 pointing back to ourselves.. Anyway, this topic's open for discussion with me on MSN.. Let's have fun discussing about politics today =) Thanks MJ..
